Cambridge Scottish Society was founded in 1936. Its aims are to stimulate interest in Scottish traditions, life and culture, and to support worthy charities. The usual Scottish social events are held, and in addition, members’ evenings, garden parties, walking weekends and other outings and entertainments are arranged.
Currently, a large part of the activity is centred on Scottish Country Dancing, every Thursday evening from September to June. Thursday evenings from 8 to 10pm at the Unitarian Church Hall, Victoria Street, Cambridge CB1 1JW. Most dances walked through. Thursday evenings run from September until June.Thursday Dancing
The programme usually consists of ten dances, of which two are Repertoire Dances (not walked through), and one is the Dance of the Month, repeated each week for a month. Dancing is generally to recorded music.
